In 2022, Aniket and MG met in what they’d consider a pretty unlikely spot: the lobby of an apartment complex in St. Louis, Missouri. With MG working at the front desk, she was the one who picked up the phone when Aniket called with his million questions — and yes, she gently rolled her eyes through most of them. After narrowly missing each other on his move-in day, Aniket made up for it by stopping by in person to ask his one million and first question. The rest was… well, not history quite yet. As it turns out, Aniket had devised a plan to keep their communication going. Unfortunately for him, this involved making repeated trips to the office to ask a series of questions that made MG and her coworkers wonder... "How is this guy living on his own?" (The most memorable was him asking how to log into the electricity account he had already set up himself.) What MG didn’t realize, as she laughed about “the new tenant” with her coworkers, was that Aniket was paying close attention to the small details. Before long, he shifted strategies — retiring the unnecessary questions and replacing them with something far more effective: coffee deliveries. Rain or shine, coffee kept appearing at the front desk, and MG’s office commentary quickly shifted from “Are we sure he’s an engineer?” to the now very obvious, sing-song realization: “Oh… he likes you.” And while the age old question of "who is funnier" is still up for debate, how could MG not fall for his whit, charm, and taste in coffee. And this time, the rest really is history. After five years of moves, travel disasters, life changes, ramen nights, crossword puzzles, coffee, and raising their sweet son Buddha, they can’t imagine life any other way.
