We are so excited to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter with you!

When I (Carly) walked in to my marketing class on the first day of the spring semester of 2016 I was surprised to see how large the classroom was. It was more like a small auditorium than a regular classroom. So, instead of taking my normal seat at the front of the class I decided to take a seat in the very last row. I am always early to class, so there were not many other people there yet. I still had an open seat on either side of me by the time class was about to start, which was when Derek walked in. He is a back row sitter anyway, but by that point the only open seat in that row was beside me. He politely asked to sit next to me, which I was fine with. We then proceeded to talk through the entire hour long class. It was the most fun I had had talking with a stranger in any class. By the end of that class I hoped that he would continue to sit next to me the rest of the semester. That being said, he was gone the entire next week and his seat was taken. We didn't have the chance to sit next to each other again for a month. During that month Derek would stare at me constantly. It was very amusing. He would be in a conversation with one of the other guys in our group, but he would be staring at me the whole time. The second time he was able to sit next to me he had walked in as class was starting (which was normal for him), and the person who now normally sat next to me was absent, and again that was the only seat available. History repeated itself and we talked through the whole hour. By the time class was up we walked out together and started to head in opposite directions. A few feet apart we both turned around at the same time. I had turned to ask him a question and was surprised to see him facing me. He took that opportunity to ask for my number, which I gladly gave. 2 hours later we had our first date planned. After that first date we spent every day of the next 2 weeks together. And the rest is history! Yay love! - Carly :)
