We Did It!

Even though these past 2 years have seemed long because of lost time with loved ones, in those difficult years, Nate and I have managed to accomplish so much and we are grateful for those milestones. Most of you know, that on June 7th, 2020, we were married in the meadow along the Libertyville Nature Preserve path that once upon a time I would 4-wheel as a child (shout out to Kevin Finerty for performing the marriage). It was beautiful and special, and we were surrounded by our immediate family, where we headed back to my mothers house for a quaint backyard dinner and our first dance as a married couple. In August that same year, we finalized the purchase of our new home, just around the corner from our beloved tiny condo that we realized we were outgrowing. With 3 years spent in Avondale (our favorite Chicago Neighborhood) we were so thrilled to find a tiny house nearby that we could make our own. My dad and I quickly got to work overhauling the kitchen, bathroom, and other not so obvious parts of the new house to make it our home; and by Christmas we had our first dinner together with our families to celebrate the finished work. It wasn't one month later that we learned Christmas brought more than just the end of our renovations, but also brought us a baby; on January 20th (my moms birthday) we found out we were expecting our first child! And exactly 8 months to the day, we got to meet our daughter, Meadow Fiammetta Meyers, born September 20th, 2021. Needless to say, like so many others, we cannot wait to celebrate our milestones, and the missed milestones of our guests, all together under one roof this summer, June 11th, 2022. Sometimes when I think we can't catch a break and things are hard, I remember the past two years, and while they presented so many new and challenging obstacles, Nate and I got through them together and have so much to truly celebrate!
