We met on my (Debbie) first night working with Showtime Trivia at Frazier's in Hampden, a neighborhood in Baltimore in December of 2013. We were friends for years as we were both married to other people at the time. After more than a few years, divorces, and a cervical cancer scare, it became more than just friends. We bonded over trivia, silly senses of humor, travel, music, Golden Tee, and so much more.

I had my birthday party a few weekends after my actual birthday at our house. Bunch of friends around, having a great time. I get ready to play washers with my niece Kayleigh, when Mike suddenly wants everyone's attention to give a speech. Very weird coming from him, as I'm usually the one who does speeches/toasts when we get our friends together. It wasn't until halfway through his speech that I realized he was setting up to propose to me in our own backyard. I was absolutely stunned, had no idea it was going to happen, and especially that day! We were both so happy to share that moment with our friends and family who were able to attend. :)
