How We Met

Not-so-typical online dating experience. First time they met, Alex took Amber to a University of Nebraska Omaha hockey game. Amber thought she needed a buffer because she was nervous so she brought her roommate along and Alex brought a friend. It probably helped with the nerves, but wasn't very easy to get to know each other, so a second date was necessary and happened a couple days later.

Our Dating Life

All throughout their time together, Alex and Amber have experienced a lot of fun things! One of their favorite hobbies is going to concerts. They've seen some really great acts too, including Sam Hunt, Mumford and Sons, Zac Brown Band, Shania Twain, Garth Brooks, Russell Dickerson, Frankie Ballard, Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett, Dylan Scott, Ed Sheeran, Chris Young, and Taylor Swift...to name a few. :) They also like exploring new places and trying new things. So far they have visited Scottsdale, Kansas City, Chicago, Denver, Nashville, and Minneapolis. While in those cities they've gone hiking, zip lining (Amber only cried once), attended several baseball games (excluding the hundreds that Alex worked), have been to a few Nebraska football, volleyball, and basketball games, and ate lottttttts of really good food. They don't expect much to change in their married life, except add a few more names to the concert list and a few more cities to the travel list.

The Proposal

Alex moved to Minneapolis in February of 2018. Amber was finishing up the last of her college classes in Omaha until May of 2018. In April, they had their 3 year anniversary and Amber made the trip up to Minneapolis to celebrate. They went to the restaurant, Seven in downtown Minneapolis, which had phenomenal Sushi. After dinner, Alex drove Amber to the area where their new apartment was at (since she had only visited a few times and didn't know where anything was at) and then made their way to the Stone Arch Bridge. It was rather chilly out, and being by the water made it extra cold and windy! As they were making their way down the bridge, it started getting more windy and Amber started to shake a little. Alex stopped and asked Amber if she wanted a picture since the sunset was gorgeous and the backdrop was really pretty. He turned to this random French couple that was close by and asked them to take a picture. As Amber was trying to control her hair in the roaring winds, she turned around and found Alex down on one knee with a ring in his hand. If anyone guessed if Amber cried, the answer is absolutely. Eventually she agreed with some version of 'Yes' and celebrated the rest of the weekend.
