Question
Will the ceremony and reception be at the same place?
Answer
Yes! Both will take place at The Lincoln Event Space in Ottawa, KS. The ceremony will be held outdoors on the lawn, followed by cocktail hour, and the reception indoors.

What is the dress code?
Answer
In celebration of our April wedding, we invite guests to wear spring-inspired attire in soft pastel and cheerful colors. Think garden party meets elevated elegance. Ladies are encouraged to wear dresses, while gentlemen are encouraged to wear dress pants with a collared shirt or sport coat. * As our ceremony will take place outdoors on the lawn, we encourage guests to keep this in mind when selecting footwear for the evening.

Can I bring a plus one?
Answer
To make sure we can celebrate with all of our favorite people, we’ve thoughtfully planned our guest list. Plus-ones are only included when they’re listed on your invitation or appear when you RSVP. If you’ve got one, you’ll see them there! Thanks so much for understanding—we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Answer
We have some little ones who play a huge role in our lives, and we can’t imagine our special day without them. If your little ones are included, they will be listed on your invitation.

How do we get to the venue?
Answer
Our wedding is about an hour outside of Kansas City, and we encourage guests to stay at a nearby hotel. We’ll be providing shuttle service to the venue and back to the hotel at the end of the night so everyone can enjoy the open bar and celebrate without having to worry about the drive ! For those who choose to drive, there is also free parking available at the venue—please plan for a responsible ride home. * see the Travel tab for more detailed information

Where should we stay?
Answer
We highly recommend booking a room at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ottawa, KS near our venue as soon as possible, as availability is limited and we expect it to book up quickly. This is the hotel we will be providing shuttles to and from. We strongly encourage booking early so you can take advantage of the shuttle and enjoy a stress-free evening. If rooms are no longer available in Ottawa or you’d prefer to stay in Lawrence, KS we will have a block of rooms reserved there. * see our Travel tab for more details.

What are post-wedding plans for the weekend?
Answer
We’ll celebrate our wedding in Ottawa, KS on Friday, then head back to Kansas City, MO on Saturday and stay downtown for the night. We invite guests who want to extend their trip to Sunday to head back to KC Saturday. We’re excited to spend a little time exploring the city that brought us together and made us who we are today !

What’s on the menu for the big day?
Answer
The evening will begin small bites and charcuterie during cocktail hour. We can’t imagine our wedding without sharing one of our favorite things about Kansas City with all of our favorite people. We’re serving BBQ from one of our go-to spots, SLAP’s BBQ! Enjoy all the classics—brisket, pulled pork, burnt ends, and turkey—plus their delicious sides. Dinner will be served buffet-style, so come hungry! For those who work up an appetite on the dance floor, late night snacks and dessert will be served.
