It was a Sunday in mid-October. Elise decided to attend Woofstock, to kick off the Halloween season with her French Bulldog puppy, Humphrey Bogart. Elise and Bogart were attending the event with a friend who was married to a member of Jonathan’s K9 Unit. Jonathan, his K9 Partner Finn, and her friend’s husband, were scheduled to perform a K9 demonstration as part of the Woofstock Festivities. During one of the K9 Unit’s breaks, Elise,Bogart and her friend found a spot next to few officers and K9 Handlers, Jonathan being among them. Elise recalls Jonathan not saying one single, solitary word. His friend, however, was chatting nonstop to Elise and her friend wanting to know everything there was to know about Bogart. As the festivities were coming to an end, Elise's friend was curious to know if there happened to be anyone that may have caught her eye (her friend and her husband were constantly in the habit of attempting to set her up). Meanwhile, her friend’s husband was having a similar conversation with Jonathan. Elise hesitated to even mention thinking Jonathan was cute, due to the fact that he seemingly could not have been less interested. Jonathan, figuring Elise was completely out of his league would have never thought he could’ve made any impression whatsoever on Elise. At this point the story gets a little blurry depending on who you ask. From Jonathan’s perspective, Elise pursued him, but Elise would have you believe Jonathan pursued her. Either way, each learned of their shared interest in one another, and they had their first date on Halloween night. Fast-forward a few years down the road, Halloween has remained a special day for them both. So, Jonathan found it only fitting that he choose Halloween night to propose, unlocking a new special event, their engagement.
