Chad and I initially met in high school - drama class to be exact. We were just friends back then and had lots of fun making out (as friends!) under the stage! Cut to years later and although we were friends on Facebook, we really hadn't seen each other or hung out in a long time. Our lives had gone in different directions. I had moved to Las Vegas and Chad had moved...many places, it seems. Then, one of my friends was getting married and I needed a date. Chad agreed to come visit and we connected in a way that I could have never imagined. The rest, as they say, is history.
Chad was working as a production assistant for a professional wrestling show that was filmed at Sam's Town. I often attended, kids in tow, because it was something to do on a Friday night (kidding...sort of! The shows were actually a lot of fun and Lauryn typically had a blast). There were pre-shows where the owner of the company and a production assistant (usually Chad) would come out and hand out prizes to people in the audience. I should have known something was up when on this particular evening Chad called upon me to participate (he never likes to show favoritism - such a good guy!). After begrudgingly making my way to the ring, I spun the prize wheel and landed on the mystery prize which, by "chance" turned out to be Chad offering me a ring and asking me to marry him! As a fun aside, the wheel was not rigged in any way. The plan behind the scenes was no matter what I landed on, I would be offered that *OR* the mystery prize. It just so happened that I spun it just right. :)
