We recommend checking road conditions prior to travel on https://roads.dot.ca.gov/ to ensure your way of travel is open. You can either take the 330, which is most direct but has lots of switchbacks. The 38, which is the back way, less switchbacks, and adds about 20 minutes. It is a pretty drive! Or the 18, which takes you through the Rim of the World.
