Our love story didn’t start with a nervous first date; it started decades ago in a room full of family friends with our parents. Back then, the only thing we had in common was being in the same place at the same times. If you had told us twenty years ago—back when we were just kids at family gatherings—that we’d be getting married to each other, we both would have laughed in disbelief. To one of us, he was the “mean” kid; to the other, she was just a face in the crowd. After years of silence and separate lives, the universe (and Instagram) finally pulled us back together. It started as a simple phone call on a long drive home, and we haven’t stopped talking since. We clicked instantly and realized that we weren’t just similar—we were two halves of the same soul. We’ve gone from childhood acquaintances to soulmates (and best friends). It was like we had been speaking the same language our whole lives and finally found someone who understood. It turns out that all those years ago, we weren’t just two kids in the same room; We were two halves, just waiting for the timing to be right.
