the first time Kayla had ever seen Brad, he was showing off up at Smithville Lake doing donuts on his jet ski. Kayla's mom, Dana had even nudged Kayla that day and secretly told her how cute he was and that she should go ask for a ride. Clearly she must have forgotten who she was talking to because Kayla was not going to go ask a random boy to ride with him on a jet ski in front of all the adults who had been hooked up between all their boats that day. As the day went on Brad and Kayla had exchanged smirks and that was about it! A couple of months had gone by and Becca, a mutual friend of Brad and Kayla's had talked to Kayla about how she had been talking back and forth to this Brad kid and how was so funny and that they should all hang out sometime. One night when Becca was staying the night at Kayla's she mentioned that Brad and his friend Isaac were wanting to hang out, but it was a little late for them to be leaving... So Kayla had the grand idea of telling Becca that they can come over and the girls would sneak out and go meet them up the street! LOL (Typical Kayla). the girls had snuck out to meet them and they stood out in the middle of the night talking back and forth with the boys for hours. To this day Brad will tell everyone what Kayla was wearing that day and that he showed up anticipating pursuing something with Kayla's friend and then saw Kayla in her "booty shorts" and mickey mouse sweatshirt and that was all he needed that night. Such a romantic.

After getting Kayla’s phone number, Brad grew courage to text her. Little did he know, he was signing himself up for a whole new world. LOL. Kayla texted him asking to bring her cookies! Brad was at work that day and that was not going to stop him from seeing Kayla again. Brad went to the store, bought the cookies, and delivered them. After dropping off the cookies Kayla called within 15 minutes and informed Brad, she could not throw the trash away in her trashcan or her mom would ground her for eating sweets… so what did Brad do…? He CAME BACK to get her trash. What a guy. He had no idea what this girl was capable of but learned quickly that day. After talking awhile Brad and Kayla had started to hang out with mutual friends and Brad waited for Kayla to stop being in denial of her feelings. Brad had known since the mickey mouse sweatshirt he wanted to date Kayla. Kayla was a little more stubborn. Shocker. Once Kayla came around to finally admitting that she had fallen for Brad’s charm and sense of humor he finally asked her to be his girlfriend! The two were inseparable. They did everything together. Brad had started driving Kayla to school even when at times that was not allowed by Chad and Dana with Kayla only being 15, she was not supposed to be letting a 16-year-old boy drive her around. Of course, Kayla rebelled. Brad adored Kayla. He would carry her backpack, walk her to all her classes, drive her and ALL her friends around wherever they needed to go. Kayla was quite the princess in Brad’s eyes. The two dated for a couple years and once Brad hit his senior year things began to change. The two had their differences about their future and then reality came. Brad enlisted in the military and Kayla still had to finish her senior year. The two split up even though deep down neither of them wanted to make that decision. With the time apart Kayla ended up in a different relationship, although her heart was always with Brad. He was her first love and always would be.

Throughout the next 11 years the two would exchange conversation every so often. They could not stay away from each other no matter the distance and space that was created between them. Each time they would talk Kayla would tell them it is not a good idea to talk and that they need to get over this feeling they both had. So they left it alone each time. This last year Kayla was still having dreams and thoughts of Brad and started to become very frustrated with herself as to why she was still thinking of him after all this time?! So.. she reached out to him and kind of went off on him for her having these dreams and thoughts. LOL sounds about right. the two had talked b ack and forth a bit about if she was crazy for having these feelings and if they were mutual. Brad simply explained to her that he has not dated anyone else in the whole 11 years and he told her since day 1 that he was going to be her waiting for her to come back. Kayla had recently gotten out of a relationship and was unsure how this could even be happening. the two talked everyday and finally started to hang out and the first time they saw each other it was like nothing had changed between them and you would have never thought the past 11 years had even happened. Things escalated quickly for Brad and Kayla's relationship as this time they were sure these feelings were still there for a reason and those dreams meant something. The two fell in love all over again. Neither of their families were exactly shocked with the news since these two were always brought back together. Brad and Kayla moved in together and talked about their future and were finally on the same page with it this time!

A couple months later, Brad and Kayla were having dinner after work and Kayla walked over to get silverware for them and Brad asked Kayla for her hand really quick. Confused, Kayla turned around and he was down on one knee in their living room. Kayla of course said YES and here we are so excited to share their love story and special day! These two could no be happier to be rejoined and start their future. we are going to have ourselves a merry little Christopher wedding in December!
