Jess and Andy both attended the University of Miami. He was a sophomore, she was a freshman. They had way too much in common (lost cell phones, tailgating mishaps, Tavern on Thursdays, poor grades in chemistry) - it was an instant friendship. After graduation, he moved back to Boston while she made the smarter decision to stay in Miami. Like many, he regretted ever leaving and would visit South Florida often. They stayed in touch and the trips became more frequent (and often extended by missed flights - oops!). He came down for a visit in June 2012, he called her from Boston when he went home and they've talked every day since.
After a full day exploring the tulip fields outside of Amsterdam, Jess was expecting a canal cruise and a simple dinner out with friends. However, when their friends were 'late' for dinner Jess started taking photos of the Staalmeestersbrug bridge. That's when Andy surprised her and pulled out a ring. Completely caught off guard, Jess could only manage to say, "can we talk about this later?" Luckily for him, she gathered herself and agreed to marry him.
We're getting married in Amalfi! We opted for an extremely intimate ceremony in an exotic location, but don't worry - you won't miss out on the celebration! We're planning a reception for early 2020 so all of those near and dear to our hearts have a reason to make the trip to Miami.
