Our story starts on the Hanover-Horton High School bus that drove students to the Jackson Area Career Center. Sarah attended the Agriscience program, while Luke was in the Auto-mechanics class. We got to know each other through the many trips to the career center. On November 12th, 2010, after class, Luke asked Sarah to be his girlfriend. Neither of us knew how life changing that decision would be.

Sarah, Luke, and a friend decided to make a last minute trip to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. It was a short weekend getaway that was much needed. During the last night of the trip, Luke asked Sarah to go to the dunes one more time to watch the sunset. We traveled quickly to the shoreline of Lake Michigan and began walking along the water. There was a large tree that was slowly being washed into the lake. It created this perfect platform to watch the sunset. Luke asked Sarah to take a picture of the beautiful sky and while she turned around to get the perfect shot, a silver ring created a reflection on the screen. Quickly she turned back to see him holding the most beautiful sapphire and diamond engagement ring.
