Like many great love stories, ours began with a little help from friends. It was the fall 2021 semester at San Diego State — Kristin had just begun her senior year, and Ryan his junior year. A few weeks into the semester Kristin’s sorority was hosting a “date dash” event, except there was just one problem: she didn’t have a date. Luckily, mutual friends worked their magic and before we knew it, we were set up. It was a casual introduction that neither of us knew would turn into something so much more. From the very first night, we clicked. We began spending lots of time together and a few weeks later, we officially started dating. For the next two years we continued building our relationship, exploring San Diego, and making the most out of living in the same city. When one of us needed to move for work in 2023, we took on a new challenge — long distance. We navigated many FaceTime calls and flights (40 to be exact!). Eventually, long distance turned into a new adventure in 2024 when we moved into a cozy apartment together in San Francisco. Living together has been such a special chapter. As many know, cruises to Mexico have been one of our favorites since the beginning. It was only perfect that at the end of 2025 Ryan proposed on a cruise with a beautiful sunset behind us. Now, here we are! We can’t wait to celebrate this exciting chapter with all of you.
