Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We HIGHLY recommend everyone stays on Boyne Mountain property. Booking through Boyne Mountain gives you access to kayaking, paddle boarding, chair lift tickets, the shuttle, and more. While you're more than welcome to book through AirBnb and VRBO, just know those complimentary services will not be available to you if you do. If you would prefer to stay off property, Boyne City and Walloon Lake are both great options that are just a short drive away from the resort. Click the link under the "Travel" tab to access our special group rates at the resort.

Question

Will the wedding take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors. As we all know, Michigan weather can be very unpredictable and mornings and evenings could potentially be a little chilly. Women should consider bringing a wrap, sweater, jacket, etc. for the evening hours of the reception if the weather shows for cooler temps.

Question

We're coming in from out of town, what airport should we fly into?

Answer

OPTION 1) Cherry Capital Airport (TVC) Traverse City - 1 hr from resort. OPTION 2) Capital Region International Airport (LAN) Lansing - 2 hr 45 min from resort. OPTION 3) Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) Grand Rapids - 2 hr 50 min drive to resort. OPTION 4) Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) Detroit - 3 hr 45 min drive to resort.

Question

Can we bring our kids?

Answer

We politely request that the ceremony and reception will be an adult-only event. Due to this event being outside and on the water, we care most about safety and not having to stress about any unsafe situations. Thank you for understanding!

Question

HOW WILL WE GET FROM OUR ACCOMMODATIONS TO THE WEDDING VENUE?

Answer

If you're staying on Boyne property, the ceremony and reception will all be a short distance from you - even walkable for some. There is a parking lot next to the venue and across the street. All wedding-day events will be ON Boyne property. The Boyne shuttle will be operating on a loop to various stops around the resort (The Grand Mountain Lodge, Mountain Cabins, etc.) and can take guests down to the venue and back home at the end of the night.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We would love for our guests to dress up with us! Our wedding will be a formal affair. Gentlemen are encouraged to wear a suit and tie, while ladies can opt for a floor-length gown or formal cocktail dress. We can’t wait to celebrate with you! Please note the wedding will be outdoors and on the grass. Ladies, it would be best to wear a block heel.

Question

Where can we eat on Boyne property?

Answer

Boyne Mountain is home to several great restaurants/bars. Some favorites include Forty Acres, Trophy Room Pizza, Everett's (breakfast and dinner), and the Beach House. The Das Cafe is also located inside the Grand Mountain Lodge and serves Starbucks coffee.

Question

Do you have any restaurant suggestions off-property?

Answer

Boyne Mountain Resort is just a short drive way from downtown Boyne City and Walloon Lake. Breakfast: Cafe Sante (classics such as quiche, eggs benny, and pancakes), Betty's, Sunnyside, or fresh crepes from Gilda's Lake Street Bakery. Lunch/Dinner: Happy's Tacos, Barrel Back, Lake Street Market, Boyne City Taproom, Red Mesa, Cafe Sante, Bella Vita, and Provisions Lounge. Bars/Nightlife: Stiggs, Boyne City Taproom, and The Muskrat. Walloon Lake, Petoskey, and Charlevoix are also relatively short drives from Boyne Mountain.
