Petra
Ancient Petra, one of the 7 wonders of the world and one of Jordan’s national treasures and most popular tourist attraction. Definitely a great place to visit when in Jordan.
Dead Sea
Explore the lowest point on earth and float in the waters of the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea is only a short drive from Amman so it’s even more reason to add it on your list of places to visit. Recommendation is to spend 1-2 nights in either the Marriott, Kempenski or Hilton hotel. Note: It is super hot especially in July so make sure you bring hats, sunscreen and don’t spend too much time in the direct sun because you WILL get sunburnt. Also, since the salt content is extremely high, make sure you don’t open your eyes or mouth in the water.
Wadi Rum Desert
Wadi Rum is one of my personal favorites. They call it Mars on Earth! Famous for its blood red sands and sandstone mountains which gives it the Mars landscape. Not only does Wadi Rum look gorgeous during the day, but the star filled night sky is even more stunning. The millions of shining stars truly illuminate the dark sky. So worth visiting! Some of the best movies were filmed here including Aladdin, Transformers, Dune, Star Wars and many more! There are several activities that can be done here like a Jeep Safari, camel riding, hot air balloons, hiking in the sand and exploring the desert with the Bedouins. I recommend spending one night in Wadi Rum and doing the star gazing activity. I also recommend spending the night in one of Wadi Rum’s luxurious bubble hotel. You are essentially in a clear bubble shaped room which gives you the once in a lifetime chance to fall asleep directly under the beautiful night sky. Link below. https://wadirumbubble.luxotel.com/
Shams El Balad
A great cultural restaurant with an amazing view. It is a renovated villa that’s perched up on a hill with surrounding gardens. From the terrace and balcony you will see views of the Roman Citadel and old Amman. Great option for brunch!
Blue Fig
Another great spot for an upscale brunch in an upscale neighborhood!
Hashem Restaurant Down Town
This is a must try place in Amman for falafel, hummus, shawarma and other traditional fast food style Arabic meals!
Habibah Sweets
This is a must try spot for Kunafeh, a popular middle eastern dessert. There are multiple locations.
Jabal
This is a cafe/lounge located in Salt, Jordan (my hometown and only 20 min drive from Amman). There’s food, hookah, and beautiful views especially at night!! Fun Fact- this is the same place we got engaged at.
Almond Coffee house - Rabyeh
Coffee shop with amazing coffee, sandwiches and pastries.

Another great coffee shop (and Osama’s favorite)! Multiple locations!
Rainbow Street
Located in the historical center of Amman near the downtown (Al-Balad). Like it’s name, Rainbow street is a colorful area where you can find all kind of restaurants, cafes and shops. Recommendations: - Al Quds is one of the oldest falafel restaurants in Amman and located here - Old View Cafe is exactly what it sounds like. A great cafe with great views - Sufra restaurant is another popular spot worth checking out
Wadi Mujib
If you love adventure and nature then this activity could be for you. It is a unique hiking experience through a canyon and sandstone cliffs. It ends at a beautiful waterfall. Throughout a lot of points within the hike, you will find yourself submerged in the water. I recommend having a guide throughout this hike.
