If you’ve known us for any length of time, you know this has been a long road, in the best way. Fourteen years of hills and valleys; of growing up together, figuring it out in real time, and choosing each other again and again. When we first started planning this wedding, it looked very different. Bigger, louder, more elaborate. There were spreadsheets, guest lists, vendors, voice notes, and versions upon versions of Pinterest boards. At one point, this wedding felt like a full production, filled with people and details and scripts that didn’t quite feel like us (and if you know Merlaine, you know she was gagging at the prices). We paused and we reflected on who we were, who we are now, and how long and hard we’ve worked to become these versions of ourselves and get this far. And we realized that while what we had planned thus far would be fun, it wouldn't be us. So we opted for a private ceremony, a little sooner than originally planned, with just a small circle of loved ones, and a quiet space to exchange the vows we’ve been walking toward for fourteen years. And then we’ll celebrate. Because even though we've opted for smaller (and cheaper), a love like this, resilient, honest, and hard-earned, deserves joy. It deserves music, fun, and a room full of the people who have watched us become who we are. Thank you for being part of our story. We cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter with you.
