You may have heard one of two stories- the one we tell our family and the one our closest friends remember. The truth: we found love in a hopeless place. El Buffalo was a new restaurant on the Canton Square- so new that they did not have a kitchen and their table was a folding tailgate table used to play games like beer pong and flip cup. Thanks to a mutual friend, Corry, we both ended up in this place with some of Kelly’s very best friends. James asked for a first date while we were all enjoying a Half Price Steak Night, which was a weekly occurrence for the ladies at 822 Ellwood. This was the beginning of our amazing journey together.
Kelly knew pretty quickly that James was the one. James on the other hand, played hard to get. Four year to the day we met, James planned a romantic surprise starting with roses, a room at the pendry, and our favorite bottle of Veuve Clicquot. We went for a walk down by the water in Fells Point which was a Sunday routine early in our relationship as we would walk back from brunch. Just like the movies, Kelly’s world changed the instant he dropped down to one knee and asked the question she had dreamed of hearing. Before we enjoyed an amazing dinner at The Charleston, we celebrated our engagement with the other most important person in Kelly’s life- her brother Sean. This day goes down in history as Our Favorite.
