Merin and Vishnu's love story started like all great love stories do: Through a mistake in setting location preferences in a dating app. Somehow, Vishnu, who was much farther away than expected (289 miles to be approximate), slithered his way into Merin's algorithm. Alas, by the time she re-adjusted her settings, it was too late: They had matched and were talking every day. Two days after their first text, Vishnu asked his boss if he could work remotely in Chicago and broke up with his extensive cadre of girlfriends. Two weeks later, Merin agreed to meet a man who by any chance could have been a serial killer, in person (the jury’s still out on that one). By any reasonable measure, this should have ended in disaster. But for some reason, these dummies stuck it out and building a life together — stupidly in love as ever. And we want you, all of the people who grew up with us, influenced us, nurtured us, and made us the fools that we are to join us on a lovely day of celebration.
