Meridith and Josh met in Norfolk, Virginia, where they were both stationed, in April of 2017. Their first trip together was Fleet Week in New York City, where Josh impressed Meridith with his navigational skills and bagel shops. Their time in the same city was short-lived - Josh moved to Fallon, Nevada in September to attend the Hawkeye Weapons and Tactics Instructor course and their life of "meeting in the middle" began. They knew Josh would be stationed in Las Vegas, Nevada, for his subsequent tour and began making plans for Meridith to move to the same coast. On a trip back to Norfolk for the holidays, Josh proposed on December 16, 2017 in the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, where they had their first date. Meridith said yes and followed him to Lemoore, California in June of 2018. They have spent brief weekends together in Point Mugu, California; Phoenix, Arizona; Tampa, Florida; Bryce Canyon/Zion National Park; Lemoore, California; Las Vegas, Nevada; Atlanta, Georgia; Noble, Indiana; Lincoln, Nebraska, Santa Paula, California, and Joshua Tree, California. The list continues to grow as they expect to finish their tours at their respective duty stations before finally moving to the same city (TBD) next June. Despite these adventures, their favorite weekends are the ones spent together in whichever cities they're calling home at the moment, doing "normal-couple," "domestic," things - spending time with their two dogs, cooking together, and Meridith making Josh do projects for her.
