Travel Note

Other Hotels

If looking for other hotels, we would recommend looking at hotels in Arlington, Georgetown, or DuPont Circle, which are close enough for a quick ride to the venue. We would recommend NOT getting a hotel in ChinaTown (between F St. NW and K St. NW and 11th St. NW and 6th St. NW). For any last minute reservations, we would recommend using the Hotel Tonight app.

Travel Note

Navigating DC

Public transportation is easy to use and accessible. The Metro (subway) is pretty clean and will take you to or close to any touristy sites you would like to see. If the Metro doesn't get you close, you can take a bus which are pretty reliable. If you would like to take a bus or the Metro, you need to get a MetroCard and add money to it, which you can only purchase at a MetroStop. There is a MetroStop in Foggy Bottom at I St. NW and 23rd St. NW. You can check train or bus times on www.wmata.com or through Google Maps. Uber and Lyft are also always around to get you where you need to go.

What To Do

There is a lot to do in DC! Many things are free, including the Smithsonian museums. The Watergate Hotel is about a 20 minute walk to the Lincoln Memorial and the Mall. If you enjoy walking, you can walk down the Mall to see the White House, the WWII Memorial, and Washington Monument. If you really like walking, you can continue down the Mall to get to many of the Smithsonian museums and the US Capitol. The Watergate is also about a 10 minute walk from Georgetown and the Waterfront.
