Things To Do

Here are some things you can do around town while you're here! Make the most of your trip out to see us, and be sure to let Farmington Jolt Your Journey!

Wines of the San Juan

233 NM-511, Blanco, NM 87412
, 505-632-0879

This gorgeous vineyard is nestled just beneath the crests of the San Juan mountains in Blanco, New Mexico. They have a number of wines that are grown locally in the four corners area as well as other varieties that you are sure to love!

Salmon Ruins Museum

6131 U.S. 64, Bloomfield, NM 87413
, (505) 632-2013

Check out the ruins of ancient native America at Salmon Ruins! There is a lot of colorful culture and history all around in the Four Corners!

Aztec Ruins National Monument

725 Ruins Road, Aztec, NM 87410
, (505) 334-6174

This is another really neat ancient Native American site. Trevor and I visited here very early in the morning a couple of years ago to beat the crowds, and we had the site practically all to ourselves! There is an audio tour and lots of signs that talk about the people who used to live there and how they lived. It is a sacred site to many of the Native American populations that still reside in this area.

Four Corners Monument

597 New Mexico 597, Teec Nos Pos, AZ 86514
, (928) 206-2540

If you've ever wanted to stand in 4 states at once, now is your chance! It's located only a short 90 minute drive from our house in Teec Nos Pos, Arizona.

Ship Rock

NM

If you've ever wanted to stand at the base of a 2,000 foot tall extinct volcano, this is for you! Situated on the Navajo Nation, this dramatic rock formation is said to be home to the spirits of Navajo medicine men who have passed on. These medicine men protect the land, as it is also a sacred site to the Navajo Nation, and are said to be shape-shifters and trickster spirits. It's a very pretty area.

Pagosa Hot Springs

323 Hot Springs Boulevard, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147
, 800-225-0934

The Pagosa Hot Springs are some of the largest geo-thermal pools in the world! Nestled on the continental divide at about 8700ft, there are nearly 39 different pools that you can take a much deserved soak in for just $40! There are tons of pleasant restaurants and shops nearby to enjoy too!

Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness

County Road 7297, Bloomfield, NM 87413
, (505) 564-7600

If you're up for a nice hike and seeing some crazy hoo-doos and rock formations in the badlands, then this is the spot for you! Don't forget to bring water!

Three Rivers Eatery & Brewhouse

101 East Main Street, Farmington, NM 87401
, (505) 324-2187

A super cool spot in newly renovated downtown for pizza and brews! Jack Black visited this restaurant when he was in town for the filming of the last installment in the Jumanji series.

B Square Ranch

3901 Bloomfield Hwy, Farmington, NM 87401
, 505-325-4275

They have a great collection of vintage cars and trucks, and assorted other things from through the years! Stop through if you're feeling nostalgic.

Lake Farmington

8120 East Main Street, Farmington, NM 87402
, (505) 599-1197

Great for swimming, tanning, boating, hiking, or fishing! You can also camp at the lake overnight if you like. The lake is kept stocked, and the entry fee is just $1 per car!

Berg Park

400 Scott Avenue, Farmington, NM 87401
, (505) 599-1197

This is a great place for an evening stroll or to sit comfortably by the riverside to relax. They also offer white water rafting directly out of the park!

Mesa Verde National Park

Mesa Verde, CO
, (970) 529-4465

We've been here as a family a couple of times, and it is absolutely breathtaking. The drive up is incredible. You can even see Shiprock from there over 70 miles away. It's insane. The park offers a slew of restaurants, bathrooms, and historical sites along the way through the park. It has some really narrow, winding roads though, so watch out! Park entry is $25 per car.

Navajo Lake

NM 87419

Navajo Lake is the largest lake in the Four Corners area, and it is man-made, featuring a dam that meters the flow of water to the entire northwestern part of the state. The lake features its own marina where you can rent pontoon boats, jet skis, house boats, and fishing equipment. They also offer inner tube rentals for riding the waves and making a splash! You can camp out here as well, way away from the city lights and noise.
