Our wedding ceremony and reception will both be held at Rockwell on the River, an event venue and former manufacturing complex in the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago.
Our ceremony will start promptly at 6:30pm. Shuttle service from the three hotels on our website will be provided to and from the venue. We’ll be sharing a shuttle schedule soon. Stay tuned. If you are finding your own way to the venue, please note that there may be more traffic than usual due to Chicago’s Air & Water Show taking place this weekend, as well. Please plan to arrive at 6:00pm to leave time to valet park and find seating.
We don’t have a set dress code – we just want you to feel your best! If a suggestion helps, think fun, Summer Cocktail Attire. No expectations from us! We want everyone to feel as comfortable as possible and wear whatever brings you joy. As long as it's something you can dance the night away in!
There’s nothing quite like Summer in Chicago! Late August tends to have warm afternoons and early evenings with cooler mornings and nights. It can also be humid depending on the day. As far as temperature, expect highs to range from the low to mid-80s, and lows in the mid-60s. There’s also always the possibility of rain. While we plan to have our ceremony outside (fingers crossed!), if showers are expected, we’ll move the ceremony inside.
After we’re married (ahhh!), a cocktail hour will immediately follow the ceremony. After that, we’ll be serving a family-style dinner. After dinner, dancing will kick-off and our band will play until 2am. Don't worry, we'll have late night food to keep us going! And on Sunday at noon, we’ll be hosting a brunch starting at noon that we hope you’ll be able to attend!
Yes! All three hotels listed on our website (the Westin, Godfrey, & Waldorf) will have shuttle service to and from Rockwell. We’ll be sharing a shuttle schedule soon. Stay tuned.
Upon arriving at Rockwell, there will be Valet Parking available starting at 6:00pm and lasting until the end of the reception, 2:00am. The cost of parking is covered, but tipping is encouraged.

If you are traveling with kids and need help finding babysitters, or with anything at all, please reach out to us and we can connect you with trusted sitters. Reminder that kids are welcome at the Sunday brunch!
Our guest list is unfortunately at capacity, which means we are sadly unable to accommodate additional guests. If you have any questions, please reach out to us.

We definitely want to make sure you enjoy your meal on our wedding day, please share any dietary needs in your RSVP.
We are very grateful to have nearly everything we need as we begin our next chapter together. Your love, laughter and company on our wedding day is the greatest gift of all. However, for those who would like to celebrate with more than that, we’d love for you to consider a donation in lieu of a gift. See our registry for a few organizations that are closest to our hearts. For friends and family who have expressed an interest, we’ve created a gift registry, as well. Please know that gifts are not necessary. Really!
Considering the circumstances, we expect that everyone attending our wedding is fully vaccinated and boosted. Thank you for taking this seriously so that we can all celebrate safely together. We will also closely monitor local, state, and federal health guidance in the lead-up to our wedding and keep you updated if we need to make modifications to our wedding week.
We encourage everyone to come a few days early – there’s really no place like Chicago in the summer! Check out our "Thing To Do in Chicago" page for lots of fun ideas. Also, a reminder that the Chicago Air & Water Show is taking place the same weekend as our wedding – another fun, free option!
No problem! You can email Meredith (meredith.lee.brown@gmail.com) or Max (max.wertheimer@gmail.com) at any time!
