How Our Forever Started!

First comes Dave and Busters, then comes marriage, right?

Tyler and Meredith met on a popular dating app called Hinge. At the time, Tyler was deployed, and Meredith was sitting in a parking lot waiting to go to a company party with her dad. To pass the time, she decided to scroll through Hinge, and there it was: a “like” from a guy named Tyler. He had commented on one of her prompts about her favorite chef, and one thing quickly led to another. There was an instant connection, one that felt undeniable from the start. After a few weeks of talking and texting, it was almost time for Tyler to come home from deployment and go on their first date. Feeling a little nervous, Meredith asked if they could FaceTime the night before to ease some of the jitters. That call ended up lasting nearly two hours, setting the tone for everything that came next. The next day, they finally met in person. Tyler was running a few minutes late thanks to Peach, his dog, not wanting to come inside, of course. Their first date was full of laughter, games, and fries. At one point, a couple even approached them to say, “We had our first date here, and now we’ve been married for 10 years!” At the time, the comment felt a little intense, but looking back, it feels like God was giving them a nudge. As time went on, it became clear that they couldn’t imagine life without each other. Tyler officially asked Meredith to be his girlfriend over a charcuterie board at Timber, which was very fitting since anyone who knows Meredith knows her love for a good board. Not long after, they moved in together, marking the start of their forever. After nearly a year of dating, Tyler left the military, and they decided to move back to Oregon, where Tyler grew up. Meredith didn’t hesitate; she had always loved the mountains and knew Omaha wasn’t her forever home. Together, they began their next adventure in Oregon, where they have been building their life ever since. In November 2024, Tyler proposed to Meredith on Mount Hood, one of her favorite spots in the Portland area. She, of course, said yes. Now, they are beyond excited to begin this next chapter together as husband and wife.
