It is the belief that certain individuals are destined to be together, bounded by an invisible connection that transcends time and space. People might cross paths with their person before connecting on a deeper level or be in the place years before meeting. This theory suggests that fate, not choice, determines the relationship. There is a predetermined connection. The universe ensures the right time and circumstance for these individuals to meet and form a relationship. People may have already met, but the timing wasn't right. This is a nod to East Asian folklore like the Red Thread of Fate. Well, Tim and I should have met many times before we did in DRI. We started work at the same time in adjacent mission areas. We even had the same friend circles and overlapping deployment dates and visits to the same locations, yet we never met. And if we had met, we don't know if it would have worked. Our life experiences over the last 20 yrs made us the people we needed to be for each other. Meredith's Tim, and Tim's Meredith are perfect for each other. We could tell you each of the dozen or so stories about the events, people, and places where our strings intersected, but each of you know some of those and can share with each other.
