Whats the deal with Halestrong?

Answer

Changing a woman's maiden name to her husband's family name comes from a patriarchal tradition that denotes a woman becoming her husbands property after marriage. We have decided to modify this tradition and make it our own by combining both of our names (Hale and Armstrong) to form Halestrong which symbolizes the joining of our families and our lives together and marks the start of our journey as husband and wife.

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP as soon as possible but especially definitely by a month before our wedding, which would be September 7th. Yes that means YOU TOO, even if we already know you're coming!

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes we do! We will be staying at Hotel Indigo with both the girls since the hotel is very dog friendly (even dog encouraged :D), you can find the info on our travel page or use this link to get a discount through our wedding block: https://tinyurl.com/halestrongwedding We encourage as many people as possible to stay at Hotel Indigo but there are plenty of other hotels in Downton Winston-Salem which are walking distance to the cool stuff we want to do.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Human children are absolutely welcome and encouraged to attend, our dogs will also be there so just make sure you keep your kids on leash and pick up after them if they have an accident and we will be doing the same :)

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes there is a very strict dress code of "WEAR WHATEVER YOU CAN DANCE IN" and whatever helps you feel and look amazing to celebrate.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Plenty parking at the venue and you can leave your car there as long as you come back Sunday morning to pick it up by 9:30am. Please don't plan to drive yourself home at the end of the night if you will be taking advantage of the alcohol offered! We have a strict no drinking and driving policy.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to get your own transportation home from the reception or have a Designated Driver assigned to your group! There may be limited Ubers available at the last minute so please have your transportation plan ready in advance either by scheduling an Uber/Lyft or catching a ride with a safe driver. The venue is about 25 minutes from the hotels in downtown Winston-Salem and we have a very strict no drinking and driving policy. Keys WILL be taken from anyone intoxicated trying to drive. We have made some special transportation arrangements and will be informing our families individually if those options apply for them.

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

We will be going out downtown after the reception to do some more dancing and partying! I can almost certainly assure you that Jordan will be at Reboot Arcade Bar and there will be dancing at La Ch.ngada (no that is not a typo its a really hip place and that is how they spell it) Still planning to add more official events as we figure out what they are. Most likely options would be a karaoke night during the week or a brunch on Sunday. We will let you know!
