We met in Culinary school. We were in separate classes until Jeremy's class became too small to be a class on its own. Our classes were combined and we found we were working together much more often. The first time we ever really talked was in the dish pit. I was washing dishes and he was trying to explain how to load the dish rack. Jeremy found this interaction particularly funny because I COULD NOT figure out how to the load the dish rack the way he explained it. In that moment we laughed, and found we had the patience to work well together. Next thing we knew our classmates had set us up, and it was on the up from there. We knew we had something special.
His proposal was so genuine and sweet. It was a typical evening. We had some company over and we all were singing some country favorites. Jeremy asked me to dance. We were dancing in the living room, but he suddenly stopped. He went over to his beer can on the table and pulled off the tab. He then proposed with the beer tab, and said he wanted to spend his life with me. I, of course, said "Yes." We couldn't wait to start our life together. This was such a heartfelt moment. There weren't any bells, whistles, or frills. It was just about us. He got me a ring shortly after he proposed, but I still keep the beer tab. This is such a happy memory for the both of us. We wouldn't change it!
