It all began with two people bored during COVID. Alex and Meredith matched on Tinder while she was looking for a way to pass the time while sitting on the beach, and he needed something to do while stuck at home. After a few conversations back and forth, they decided to meet for their first date at Brick Alley Pub. They immediately hit it off, quickly realizing how much they had in common. Meredith even texted a friend, “Start planning my wedding,” because the date was going so well. That night, they made a promise: Alex would teach her how to ski and golf if Meredith helped him get back into the sport they both love most- volleyball. After a few weeks filled with dates like axe throwing, trips to the driving range, and sunsets at Barrington Beach, Alex asked Meredith to be his girlfriend over Town Pizza at the Whitakers’ house. From that point on, they were inseparable. Together, they built a life buying a home, becoming proud parents to their beloved Portuguese Water Dog, Wendell, traveling, and making the most of every moment. In May 2025, Alex asked Meredith one more important question: to marry him. Though life has taken them many places since that first date in October 2020, they’ve kept their promise spending plenty of time on the golf course and doing what they love most together: coaching volleyball. Their love has grown with each chapter they have lived together and are so excited to begin this next one as they get married!
