Meredith's Version: A good friend of mine told me that there was a guy on the football team she thought I'd be perfect with because, "he's really awkward and so are you". Because both of us are "really awkward", Garrett and I refused to acknowledge each other in person. One day, when I was walking to class eating my Jimmy John's sandwich, Garrett pulled up in his truck to drop off his friend for the same class. Garrett whistled at me in a totally normal and non-creepy way, and as charming as this was; it was even more charming that I had taken an unnecessarily large bite that had lettuce spilling all over my face/shirt as I tried to talk with my mouth full, and the rest is history. Garrett's Version: I had a buddy that I played football with at Huntingdon that came up to me one day and said, “I know this cute girl that may be more awkward than you. You should talk to her.” The ladies man that I am, I got her information and called her just about a year later. About 2 months after that, we finally had an interaction face to face. We then decided to go to a Mexican restaurant for a date. Somehow it got brought up that I was wearing crocs, and she made a slight comment about them, so I knew I had to change shoes. That’s how I knew I really wanted to be serious with Meredith, because I don’t take my crocs off for anyone!

Garrett was dead-set on proposing to Meredith on St. Mary's Glacier, despite the fact that there was about an inch of snow. So when the time finally came, Garrett forgot his tennis shoes and hiked in his crocs. In 55 degree weather. In an inch of snow. For 2 miles. Talk about cold feet ha ha
