We were set up on a blind date on Valentine's Day. After the date party on the square and late night pizza, we walked back to our cars, but stopped to take our first picture at the William Faulkner statue. A few days later, Meredith celebrated her 22nd birthday, which was the perfect opportunity for Evan to reach out.
Meredith & Evan were back in Oxford for a game day weekend with Meredith's family. They woke up early to stop by Bottletree Bakery (Meredith's favorite) for croissants and coffee followed by a walk to campus and back to the square. Meredith even commented how much of a "Yes Man" Evan was being that morning. After what seemed like the perfect day in Oxford, Evan planned it out with Meredith's dad to take Meredith back to where they took their first picture on the square - William Faulkner's bench - to ask her to marry him. After she said yes, the rest of Evan's family, who was hiding in parked cars on the square, popped out their heads for the ultimate surprise! They celebrated in true Ole Miss fashion with a long night of dancing and a Rebel win the next day.
