It all started in Fall Semester of Sophomore year at Messiah University. They were both brought in to help organize and run the education department’s eSTEAM program for students in Migrant Ed. At first, they didn’t really know each other. Meredith thought Travis was little more than someone cute, out of her league, and playing Google solitaire during important classes. Travis thought Meredith was an over the top, type A personality who had her life together in every single way but still managed to find something to worry about. Gradually, however, they began to form a friendship. Travis began to sit in on lunches in Lottie Nelson Dining Hall with Meredith’s friends post-eSTEAM (where apparently Meredith subconsciously flirted with Travis.) Throughout the final weeks of the semester, friendship blossomed into crushes, and the weeks were capped off on the final night where the two stayed up until 7:00am in a classroom watching the most absurd and random YouTube videos known to humanity. And then winter break happened. Communication continued, feelings grew, and by January 14th, 2022, they were officially together. Now, let’s get to the goats. At one of those aforementioned Lottie lunches, the group was talking about Biblical passages - something which was a norm for many Messiah students - and landed on the topic of betrothal and bride prices. Travis made the off-handed topic that his “wife will be worth at least 3 goats and a spoon.” Fast forward to August 14th, 2024. Up to this point, Meredith received 1 Lottie Nelson dining spoon and 2 stuffed goats. But it was this fateful date that Travis deemed her beyond worthy by taking her on a hike at Billy Goat Trail and sharing a meal of goat biryani. At the end of the hike, during a beautiful sunset, Travis asked Meredith to be his “home” and to let him keep her safe forever. She exuberantly agreed. Thus, you have been brought to this wedding website in celebration of the love between these two goofballs granted to them by their good and gracious God. Travis and Meredith love you all and are so grateful to have you in their lives.
