We decided to get married at the Seattle Courthouse on October 8th, 2021 in Seattle, WA. It was a small ceremony, just the way we wanted it! With two beautifully sunny days, we were able to celebrate with some of our family. Now, we look forward to the wedding reception (the fun part of every wedding!) where we get to celebrate with all of you. We are very excited to see everyone who can make it to Atlanta, GA for the reception. Gift note: as we have to travel in for the reception, please do not bring any gifts - they don't travel well! We met as any ultimate player would want to meet their partner - a college party tournament. This particular one was Lynx Rufus' FLICKIN NUTS; Mer playing with her GCSU club team, Jess playing with an Augusta pick-up team. We struck up a conversation after our teams played over a shared WhiteClaw and continued to party into the night. With this foundation set, and a plan to hang out the next weekend, we went our separate ways. However, it would only be a few days before we were in each other's company again. It turned out that Mer had left Jess with more than fond memories, she gave her the flu! As such, it only seemed fair that Mer nurse Jess back to health. During the stay, we had our first date (coincidentally on Valentine's Day) and from then on, we were a pair. We continue to play ultimate frisbee together to this day. When we're not on the field cheering each other on, you can find us camping in nearby mountains or more likely at home with our dog (Roux) and three cats (Dakota, Scout & Ollie).
