What are the health precautions for the wedding?

Answer

As there will be a number of immunocompromised guests, and loved ones over the age of 65, we are strongly encouraging everyone to be vaccinated in order to attend. For the very small number of those who are not vaccinated due to medical conditions, we’re asking that you provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to travel to Charleston. Thank you for helping us take care of one another! We encourage all our Guests regardless of vaccine status to test prior to arrival. We appreciate your understanding and want everyone to feel confident that those in attendance are safe and protected so we can all focus on having a great time together!

What to expect from the venue?

Answer

The venue is a beautiful 2 story home on a historic property that includes a small lawn, oyster tabby courtyard, and a covered dance floor. We encourage guests to explore the property after the ceremony as cocktail hour and dinner will be spread throughout the property. The ceremony will be outside and all events during the weekend will be indoor/outdoor venues.

What is the weather like in Charleston this time of year?

Answer

Weather should be wonderful. Highs around 80, lows in the mid 60s. The humidity should be manageable before the summer months. Like many of the beach town in the Southeast, a storm can swoop in at a moments notice, but May is typically better months than most.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Answer

The courtyard and first floor of the home are accessible. Given this is a historic home, there is no elevator to the rooms on the second floor.

Will transportation be provided between to/from the hotel?

Answer

Transportation will not be provided throughout the weekend. We selected Charleston due to its great walkability. We have also located events throughout the weekend in close proximity with the aim to reduce the need of vehicular travel.

Phone etiquette for the event?

Answer

We have hired a photographer for the entire event. We ask that phones are kept tucked away during the ceremony to share this intimate moment together. Please feel free to snap away during cocktail hour and reception.
