Taylor: Wow, how to start all of this...Mercer and I met on Match.com. I was visiting my grandparents down in Florida and woke up to a Match message that was almost two paragraphs long (and if I was smart at the time and not so swooned by his kind words, the time stamp said 3:00 am Central time haha). We started talking a bit back and forth and decided to meet for dinner. The first date was at Blue Sushi and we hit it off. The conversation flowed and we both knew there would be a second date. However, this second date was not as easy to plan and took a couple tries to organize (mainly because of me). Mercer: Yes it started out very comical with myself starting the conversation after a long night at a good friends 30th bday party. After re-reading my original message I was a bit set back at who was talking:) Thank fully I had the gumption to reach out to Taylor because it has been the best inebriated decision I have ever made. As Taylor said the first date went very well and we were certainly interested in the other. But due to some miscommunication/poor listening I mistook her work schedule for different nights than they actually were. This lead to me thinking she was blowing me off and unintentionally playing hard to get. She finally reached out and we went on our second date and it has been bliss ever since.

Taylor: Falling in love seemed instant. I personally have never connected so well with a person in my life (and a double plus that our dogs loved each other too 🐶). We are both very loving people and will do anything for one another. I feel comfortable acting myself around Mercer and I know he is the same with me. Everything felt so natural and easy for me. I knew I had found my person. Mercer: I agree, I was absolutely smitten with Taylor immediately. She is an amazing person with an amazing heart and is very beautiful both inside and out. We both love dogs, care about other people's happiness above our own, are active, caring, intelligent, creative, driven, loyal, trustworthy, loving, good wholesome people who also love to party and spend time with friends and family. We are just very similar and connect on so many levels, it was very easy to open up and fall in love 😊

Taylor: Our proposal definitely takes the cake, almost more than how hard it was to get our relationship started. We went back to Blue Sushi for our two year anniversary dinner, but I did not know this would lead to the night that would change our relationship. (I'll let Mercer tell the rest) Mercer: The actual proposal I could not tell you what I said exactly. I just remember us both laughing and crying at the same time. The other part of the proposal process that Taylor had no idea about was the purchasing process of the ring and all the interaction with family members asking for her hand in marriage. This was a very extensive process and I kept a journal about the process and my feelings throughout it so she could relive all of it. The whole action of purchasing the ring and having it in our house without her knowing was difficult for me. I tell Taylor everything and keeping something a secret from her inherently felt wrong even though it was a gesture of love. I was not as traditional as most men asking for their wives hand in marriage, I asked her whole immediate family at separate times for her hand in marriage. We are both very close with both of our families so this process was very enjoyable and I was welcomed into her family immediately. I wanted everything to be absolutely perfect for the love of my life!
