Matt and Emily met in 2013 in Boone, NC, while they were both students at Appalachian State University. From the moment they crossed paths in the dining hall, they clicked, bonding over a shared sense of humor, mutual interests, and just the right amount of weirdness. After two years of friendship, they decided to take the leap from best friends to something more. To make a long story short, after graduation they chose to take some time apart to grow individually (aww) and figure out who they were as adults in the real world. Then along came COVID, and they found themselves back in each other’s lives. Since 2020, Matt and Emily have been each other’s biggest supporters, sharing countless laughs, trips, and the occasional heated board game. In 2022, they settled down in Raleigh, where Matt became Pickles' dad, though Pickles mostly pretends he doesn’t know him. In 2024, they added Skipper, a lovable tripod pup, to the family, much to Pickles’ dismay. Like many older siblings, Pickles has slowly accepted that Skipper is here to stay and might even enjoy her company from time to time. Matt and Emily plan to stay in Raleigh for the foreseeable future, thanks in large part to the incredible community they’ve found there (shoutout to the 919 crew). They’re endlessly grateful for their families, especially their parents and siblings, who have been their biggest cheerleaders since day one. Matt and Emily wouldn’t be who they are, or where they are, without their love and support. They can’t wait to celebrate this special day with all of you.
