Our story began on St. Patrick’s Day in downtown Wichita at Emerson Biggins. We were both out celebrating with friends when a mutual friend recognized someone at a nearby table and suggested we sit down and say hello. That simple introduction changed everything. Mercedes ended up sitting next to Brian and his friend, and before long the conversation was flowing. At one point, food even arrived at the table that Brian and his friend had ordered which Mercedes ate all of. The group ended up sharing laughs, stories, and the start of something special. Four years later, on St. Patrick’s Day, Brian brought the story full circle. At the very same place where we first met, surrounded by our friends and family, he got down on one knee and asked Mercedes to marry him. Of course, she said yes—and the rest is history.
