We were introduced to each other back in 2016. Katie Piszczor (Lucas' cousin and Amanda's former colleague) had set us up on a blind date. We met at Raised for a drink, and moseyed on over to Mercadito for tacos, margaritas and lots of laughs. We ended the night with one last Corona Light and went our separate ways. Literally. We did not reconnect until 2019 where we met at Marquee Lounge for a few more Corona Lights and decided we were not going to let each other go this time. And the rest, as you know, is history.
Lucas planned a beautiful day for us to go to Gibson's Italia on the river for lunch, and then get dinner with my brother (Kyle) and sister-in-law (Jordan). On our way out the door Lucas was sure to stuff a backpack full of Miller Lite and a jacket in case it got chilly. We showed up to our reservation at noon, and to my surprise we were 45 minutes early (thank goodness we had a backpack full of Miller Lites) so we decided to take a walk by the river. Then, we sat down on a bench overlooking the city, and Lucas asked me a very important question...."Do you want a beer?" and when I turned around, he was on one knee asking me to spend the rest of our lives together. After some tears, some laughs and of course a YES, we were met by a photographer who was able to capture our day perfectly. We then went in to Gibson's and celebrated our engagement as a couple. After that, we went home before the previously scheduled dinner, and Lucas had an amazing surprise party at our home with friends and family. It was a beautiful day to celebrate our new adventure together and we will cherish those memories forever.
