It all started with a right swipe. We met on a dating app (thank you Hinge) and went on our first date to the finest dining establishment- Buffalo Wild Wings! We talked for hours over some wings, beer and college basketball. We were having such a good time that we managed to lose track of time! He walked me to my car and kissed me goodnight! We went on our second date a few days later :)
Soon after we started dating, I moved to Fort Worth, TX for a job and school and we started our long distance relationship. We lasted for about six months before we decided to end the distance and move in together! Cameron sold his house, quit his job, got a new job in Texas, and moved in to my tiny apartment with me. A few days after he moved, the world shut down when COVID made its debut. We were forced to live together, work remotely together, and just be together 24/7 as a newly joined couple. But it turns out that it's pretty easy to live with your best friend! Fast forward a few more months and we bought a house and got the most precious puppy together!
We were visiting Cam's family in Washington for the 4th of July weekend (a trip that I had planned). We had plans to explore Seattle and brought Jackson (our dog) with us. Our first stop was a place called Discovery Park- a place that Cameron claimed he went to as a child and had a really cool light house on the beach. We get there and come to find that it was a hike to get to the beach. The day before, we had hiked 6 miles with the fam and I had to carry Jackson for most of it so I was not thrilled to be doing another hike with Jack. Cameron reassured me that it was about a half mile hike and the light house on the beach would be worth the trek so I agreed. 1.5 miles later, we were still not there and Cam didn't seem to know where he was going. It was unusually hot for Seattle that day and we only brought one water bottle for Jackson, so by the time we got to the beach, I was not a happy camper. The light house was a tiny light house that was fenced off, so I just sat on a log while Cam went to the water. He comes back and says to me, "I know you're not happy right now, but there's actually another reason we came here." I immediately knew what was going on and he got down on one knee and proposed! My best friend, Amanda, who lives in Seattle came out of nowhere and was there to capture the moment for us! We walked down on the beach and there was a blanket with flowers, champagne, charcuterie and pictures of us throughout the years! We then went out to a celebratory dinner with Amanda and her husband in cute spot in downtown Seattle! I was so surprised and felt so bad for being a brat! But it was so special and turned out absolutely perfect!!
We cannot wait to celebrate with the people we love most! Bring your dancing shoes and party pants & we'll see you in Arizona!
