We're getting married !!!

Nate and I met in October of 2022 when we were freshmen at East Texas Baptist University. Nate and his best friends are very musically inclined and I was hanging out with two of them when I was invited to a "jam night" in the music building. I knew most of the people there but the cute guy on the drums I did not. As the weeks went on I slowly started to see him around campus more and hanging out with him in group settings.

Fast forward to 2023, Nate and I talked over the phone pretty much all summer. I just had ACL surgery so I had a lot of downtime. One day Nate messaged me and asked if I was busy on June 13th. I won't lie I was a bit confused but he told me that the Choir Mission trip that he was going on with his Church was coming to Saint Louis. We were talking about all that they would be doing when he mentioned that they were going to a STL Cardinals Game This man took his opportunity and told me that there was an extra ticket (thank you Andre!) and asked if I would like to go with him to the game. Of course, I said yes, even if it meant that I would be hobbling (quite literally) through downtown STL and the stadium not even one month post ACL surgery.

Nate truly was the absolute sweetest and put so much thought into our proposal story. He proposed to me on this beautiful overlook of my hometown. This overlook holds some very sweet memories for me from highschool and then in that it is where Nate also gave me my promise ring back in December of 2023. Nate proposed to me on October 5, 2024, with a passage of Scripture that we have read many times together. After we got engaged, we made our way back to my house where he had planned a surprise engagement party with my family, Nate's family, and some of our closest friends, including flying in 2 of my best friends and college roommates all the way from Texas. This day was so magical and beyond beautiful! I think its safe to say.... I am #MeltonforLovelady
