No you do not need a passport just a valid driver license
6pm - head to the Ocean Lawn at Kauai Beach Resort + Spa
Semi formal resort wear! Color suggestions: magenta, orange, golden, dark green, dark blue, pink, (tropical print)
The weather will be warm ( 80s and humid) Swim suit/swim shorts Reef safe sunblock - Hawaii has a ban on two ingredients: oxybenzone or octinoxate. Please check labels before packing! There are lots of reef safe brands out there like Alba Botanica, Sun Bum, Hawaiian Tropics etc. Athleisure/athletic wear like shorts, yoga pants, biker shorts, sneakers. Highly suggest bringing along Tevas or Chacos (adventure/hiking sandal) these are perfect for hiking, waterfalls, beach excursions ( a lot of beaches in Hawaii are rocky ). Hat/sun hat Fanny pack/crossbody bag/backpack for hiking/excursions Light jacket, light rain jacket - Kauai is known for having little sprinkles of rain. We are going in dry season but if you venture to North Shore there is a higher chance of it sprinkling in the rainforest. You also just have the beach breeze in the evening so light jean jacket, or linen shirt is great!
Please note that all of Kauai's beaches are public except Ha'ena state park, a reservation is required. Here you can visit anicent taro fields, Ke'e beach and the trails to enter the Na Pali Coast/waterfalls. Reservations must be made in advance. Reservations can be made here: https://gohaena.com/
If you plan on camping you will need a permit/reservation - I would plan this in advance as they sell out fast. Permits / reservations can be obtained here: https://recreation.kauai.gov/wbwsc/webtrac.wsc/search.html?module=RN&search=yes
Cell service can be very spotty on the island, if you make reservations for anything I highly suggest printing them or just taking a screen shot of them on your phone to show at the gate/entry. Also if you notice you have no service turn on airplane mode so you don't drain your battery, you will want to save batter for all the amazing photo ops!
