I will always remember our first words to each other: "Hi, Radcliffe my name is Melonie, can you please help me understand Subnetting IP addresses” Oliver said "Yes, and you can call me Oliver". We met at Computer Networking school. After a few months in school, I was still shocked from my recent layoff and my grades started to slip. Our professor suggested that I ask one of my classmate that were getting straight “A”s to tutor me. I sat in the front of the class, taking notes and was still struggling with my grades, while Oliver sat in the back with headphones on and was getting straight “A”. Anyway, after getting another failing grade in subnetting, I humbled myself. I walked to the back of the class, over to Oliver and I said: Hi Radcliffe, my name is Melonie, can you please help me understand Subnetting IP addresses? The rest is history. The crazy part is, Oliver tutored me so well; I ended up improving my grade and I became the Class Speaker when we graduated. The best in the class! How awesome is that! Over the time Oliver tutored me, we learned we were both Jamaicans that came to America young. We were both recently laid off and went back to school to update our skills, and we found out we were both 2 years out of a divorce. Fun fact we have the same divorce date! Oh yeah, we found out we both play Sudoku everyday! I asked Oliver if he had a girlfriend and if he wanted to be my boyfriend. God aligned the stars, and we started dating. He lived in Elizabeth, and I lived in Plainfield. God has been so good to us. We have grown together from two “unemployed classmates"; to loving on each other daily. Our memories span over 10 years. We thank God for bringing us together and showing us this wonderful love we share with each other. Now, we are joining our love in God! Melonie & Oliver
