My daughter and Darian's daughter attended school together, and after school, they would occasionally play outside together. I thought nothing more than two little girls playing together until one day... REWIND, We lived in the same neighborhood for 5 years unbeknownst to me my future Husband was a block over all this time. I ended up moving from that house to a house right across the street from him, 😂 not knowing this would be a happy ending to that move I didn't want to make! Almost a year went by and we never spoke. In 2023 he enrolled his daughter in 5th grade at the neighborhood school. Our daughters met in class and later realized they rode the same bus. D(as I call him) and I would have to communicate when they wanted to spend the night. One time I asked him to fix my car. We ended up adding each other on Facebook. I made a video about "people always asking for favors and money from me like I'm not holding a house and 3 kids down by myself." The next day, when he was finished with my car and texted me,"You're done." I asked him "How much" and he said "Nothing. Didn't you say no one ever does anything for you, I pay attention," and he walked away. It was then I noticed him as more than "My neighbor!" He started attending my daughter's kickball games then came to my son's football games. We started texting more and more. I remember asking him three questions," What's your favorite color, Food, and movie?" Simultaneously we said (CHICKEN, BLUE, & HOME ALONE). Time went on then he asked me to be his woman. An instant connection as if we had known each other. On our 1 year anniversary, he asked me to be his wife. Who would have thought for years the man God had for me was right under my nose? I literally had to let go of the wheel and let God guide me. I thank him daily for guiding us into each other!

It all started with a text from an unknown number! “Hey this is Mel I'm your neighbor across the street. I got your number from xyz I was just trying to see if you were available to work on my car today.” I responded with a text, “yea I got u do you have the parts?” Not even knowing who this person was until I walked across the street and was like damn she cute but kept it strictly business but in the back of my head dang she fine as hell though🤤 I continued on with finishing my job and sent a text to let her know I finished. About a few weeks go past I get a text, “Hey neighbor this Mel, this my new number!” I replied ok. Then I get a text like, “hey DJ can go to football practice with me if he wants to it's only 6-8.” Then after that we started going to kickball games together since the kids got a great bond together. I started going to Deuce’s football games. One day she got up and cooked me breakfast knowing I was leaving for work; at 7 am she was like I'll be up and your food will be over there before that! I was like dang she on it! That next morning sure as shit, I had breakfast at the door before 7am! I was like dang I never had that before I have to start texting and reaching out to her. It started with good morning and how was your day texts to damn I want her to be my girlfriend. After asking her to be my girlfriend I was at her house everyday like it was my house, not gonna lie I was probably getting on her nerves. But we were in pjs for Christmas as a family! To the kids asking where I was when I wasn't there to hey Melody would you Marry me! It seem like I have known this woman for my whole life! Just know from this day forward I choose us! SHELTON SHIT!
