The Road to Hana is one of the most scenic road trips in the world. Approximately 64 miles long, featuring over 600 curves and 50 one-lane bridges. It connects Kahului to the town of Hana in East Maui and takes about 5 hours round-trip. Mile markers reset at different points: Route 36 transitions to Route 360 near Pa'ia, and numbers change again past Hana. Key stops include Twin Falls (MM 2) Waikamoi Ridge Trail (MM 9) Garden of Eden (MM 10).
The Haleakalā National Park is home to a dormant volcano that rises over 10,000 feet in the air. It’s one of the most popular hiking destinations in Maui, especially for sunrise. Reservations are required well in advance if you decide to go at sunrise. Regardless the view is incredible anytime of the day!
Molokini Crater is one of the best snorkeling spots in Maui. You can only reach it by boat, so you’ll need to hire a boat or take a tour, but I promise it’s worth it. The rock rim protects the calm waters, so you hardly notice you’re in the middle of the ocean, and you get to see one of the biggest coral reefs in Maui.
