To say dating is difficult these days would be an understatement. To meet someone and date during a global pandemic is on another level. But in the strangest of circumstances, our paths crossed. With MUCH thanks and credit to our dear friend Stephanie (if you meet her at the wedding, thank her because she's the reason we're all here!). In the fall of 2020, Steph worked her matchmaking magic and connected us via social media. We exchanged messages through the holidays and finally set up a coffee date right after the New Year. I (Melody) walked into our agreed upon book store meeting place and saw Andrew browsing the books. I was immediately thankful that he was tall. Later I was thankful for the easy, comfortable conversation, the shared weird sense of humor and the overall sweet awkwardness of a first meeting gone shockingly well. Over the following weeks and months, Andrew made every effort to come visit me in San Diego. I loved getting to come up to Irvine to spend time with his wonderful family. I'll never forget how at home I felt with them from day one. That was very telling. Through the next year, we would get to know one another and realize just how well we fit together (you called it, Steph). We've had so much fun traveling together, sharing holidays, enduring seemingly apocalyptic events, date nights, and just doing nothing and laughing until we cry together. I can't wait for a lifetime more of that. Hopefully with less “unprecedented times”. And more traveling. That brings us to where we are today. Thank you so much for being a part of our journey, for supporting us and celebrating with us. We love you!
