How We Met

(Melodee's Version)

Like any good love story starts - we met at a party. And not just any party! A dental school party!! But months before we actually met, a couple of my girlfriends who also know Preston took me out for happy hour after work. They kept slyly glancing at each other and then at me and then back at each other, so I asked what in the world was going on. I had a different boyfriend at the time and they said, "Mel, you know we like *insert ex-boyfriend's name*, but we know who your actual soulmate is." I didn't think much of it at the time, so I went on with my life and eventually that relationship came to an end. Then came the party where those same mutual friends introduced us and then not so subtly left us on our own to awkwardly chat in a packed frat house. But things took off from there! It was clear right away that this man is in fact my soulmate. Here's to a long life of mating souls <3

How We Met

(Preston's Version)

See, Mel's version of the story is so feel-good and probably received some "awhs" with a slight grin from a few of you. Well, my story is slightly different and I will probably get a few headshakes from some of the ladies currently reading, and maybe my parents, but hey, honesty is good and you guys want the real thing. Here is what I remember from the night we met: ... (Nothing) Not actually, but pretty close. I was overserved by whoever was pouring the Busch light keg beer (Myself) and I was flirting with a good "brown out". For those of you who are not familliar with that term, it is the level below a blackout, you remember some things, and others not so much. Anyway, I do remember said friends introducing us, talking about Marshall, and briefly mentioning that I roomed with Nick at SDSU. That is about the extent of what I remember from the night, and in all transparency, I may or may not have remembered what Mel looked like. Just that I had a great conversation with a blonde girl. Fast forward a few days, I saw her and something clicked that she was (is) the girl. (And will forever be the girl)
