Melody and Brett met in the summer of 2010 in Boulder, Colorado. They were both attending a fun house party on “the hill” in a house akin to the mansion in Clue. Gathered in the great room trimmed with green velvet and rich mahogany, the homies gathered around a velvet couch. In true Bolder fashion, an after hours face painting party had erupted. As an artist at heart, Melody offered up her skills to the group. Unsure of the whole face-paint situation, Melody charmed Brett under her brush with an exotic feather painted beautiful over his right eye. It was a great success. They became instant friends! As the summer went on Melody met many great humans. Brett was one of these great people. They bonded over music, art and “college life”. Melody was living in Denver and taking regular trips to Boulder to hang with the crew and decided to move up. As time went on Melody and Brett became more than friends and budded a strong relationship. In March of 2011 on a spring break trip to Lake Havasu, they made it official and became a couple. Brett & Melody soon moved to Denver, living in their own apartments with amazing roommates, but remained inseparable. Over time they moved in together and lived in Denver for 8 years in a downtown apartment. Many adventures, road trips, camping trips, parties, concerts, date nights were shared between them making unforgettable memories. Fast forward to 2020. What a crazy year! They survived lockdown, camped and backpacked more than ever before, bought a home in the fall and got engaged on New Years Eve. Nowadays you can find the two enjoying their new neighborhood in Aurora, CO, working on house projects, traveling the world, and hanging with friends, family and their three cats. March of 2023 marks 12 years together. They are super excited to finally get married. Can't wait to party with you all! Shoutout to Maura for bringing the two of us together!
