High school

In 2004 I was sitting in my 5th hour freshmen science class! When a few football players walked in our class (because the football players loved this science teacher). I remember looking up from my desk and seeing this tall blonde hair blue eyed jr. football player and becoming very smitten. He had his letterman jacket on and that’s how I learned his name. In high school I was very confident in the fact if I could find a way to talk to him I could get him to fall for me but at the same time I was very shy and didn’t talk to people I didn’t know. That’s when I put a plan into place haha! I told my brother’s friend I had a crush and wanted to be introduced. Jesse then asked me to homecoming. From there we dated off and on for about 2.5 years. After he graduated we lost contact.

Fast forward July 2016

At this point in my life I was in a rut. I had just failed out of radiology school and just felt like my life would never get back to normal. I felt ever since 2013 the devil was always in my corner knocking me down. With a cancer diagnosis at 22, from finding the strength to walk away from a toxic relationship, and failing out of school all I could think was this was not my plan for my life. I remember my mom always telling me it’s in God’s timing not our own and always getting so annoyed with her because I didn’t truly understand that statement. By the end of July I was sitting on my parents couch and I got a Facebook notification saying Jesse Wheat had requested to be my friend. My heart sank. All I could think was why is HE requesting to be my friend. The last time we spoke we did NOT end on good terms. My mom urged me to accept his friend request, and as soon as I accepted he sent me a message. The conversation literally lasted maybe 5 minutes before he was asking me on a date. At first I was very reluctant but with the help of my mom, Tiffany, and Jade I accepted. At first I felt very awkward but quickly became very comfortable and felt like we never missed a beat. On August 3, 2016 he asked me to be his girlfriend for the last time.
