Currently we can only have 25 people at our wedding according to Phase 1 guidelines. So at this point only the wedding party and family are on the list to attend under Phase 1. If attending you will need to wear a mask, please don't argue with us about this, it's what we want (and need according to Oregon law). The wedding party will not be wearing masks for the ceremony, but will have them for the rest of the time. If you do not want to wear a mask please attend our Virtual Wedding. We love you all and just want to keep everyone as safe as possible during these strange and difficult times. You should have received an email by now explaining if you're on the Phase 1 or Phase 2 guest list. If you haven't seen it, please check your spam folder for the email melloandjess@gmail.com or contact us and we can resend it to you. Sadly it looks very unlikely that we will be into Phase 2 by our wedding day, but for anyone who is unable to attend, we are working on ways to live stream the ceremony and to have a moment for us to personally say hello to anyone joining us remotely.
7.20.16 It all started with a "Hello" and a smile. Mike saw Jess at a mutual acquaintances' business birthday party and decided he wanted to try and strike up a conversation with her. Jess was oblivious to his first overtures, but fortunately he didn't give up, and they wound up talking for the rest of the evening. They connected over being native Portlanders and their love of trees and the outdoors. At the end of the night Mike asked Jess if she'd like to get a drink sometime, and Jess said that could work out.
8.22.19 To celebrate three years of being together Mike and Jess decided to go on a road trip up the Oregon and Washington coast, then looping through Seattle before heading home. They started their trip at the first place they ever camped together, Devils Lake Campground in Lincoln City, OR. Their first night was damp (but not as bad as their first time there, ask them about that story sometime ~_^) but the next day was one of the sunniest most beautiful days either had ever experienced at the Oregon Coast. Mike suggested they take a walk on the beach. After wandering for awhile they sat down to rest in the sunshine for a bit and began to talk of their time together, and how well they complimented and supported each other. All of which ultimately lead to Mike saying that because of all of that he wanted to ask Jess to be his wife and he wanted to be her husband. After making sure Mike was really sure, Jess happily (and yes with tears) said YES!
Now we get to celebrate and have you all be witness to our commitment to doing life together. We are so excited and can hardly wait for August to get here!
