It will be chilly during the day (avg. 67°F (19°C)) and could dip into cold in the evenings (avg. 46°F (8°C)). Please check the Schedule to see clothing and shoe recommendations for each event.
We care more that you feel comfortable and warm than wear anything fancy, however, please note that we are considering the dress code to be "semi-formal" or "cocktail" and will have candid pictures taken, so you should keep that in mind. We're planning to decorate with a mix of fall colors with some blues and greens to offset them. The venue is a Japanese-style garden. You can check out their Instagram (@haiku_avl) or Website (haikuavl.com) to see pictures and get a feel for the vibe.
The venue is mixed indoor and outdoor. In the outdoor areas, there will be heaters and two fire pits, however, please dress warmly if you tend to get cold easily.
Please submit your RSVP by August 9, 2025. We do need a final headcount by then in order to finalize contracts with our vendors.
No, we will not be having a ceremony as we eloped in February. This will be a reception only event.
The reception starts at 5pm ET, however, guests can start arriving 30 minutes before the start time. We recommend aiming for closer to 5pm than 4:30, however, as we may still be setting things up, finalizing details with our vendors and the venue.
Dinner is buffet-style. We are contracting a local BBQ restaurant. If you are bringing kids who are picky eaters, I recommend bringing something along with you that they would prefer, though there will be mac & cheese and other sides that kids tend to like.
Yes, please let us know of any concerns with food in the space provided in your RSVP.
We will not be providing transportation to/from the hotel and the reception. We recommend that, if you plan to drink, you take a ride share or taxi to/from the reception. Asheville is not very large, and the event is a weeknight, so the rates should be reasonable. If you are worried about these options, please reach out to the bride to arrange some alternative plan.
Yes, there is free parking next to the venue.
If your RSVP contains "Guest," you can indeed bring a date. Please ensure you RSVP accordingly, however, so that we can ensure they are accounted for in our headcount for the venue and caterers.
Yes, kids are welcome, but please note that there will be alcohol and music. We will ask the DJ to play the more family friendly music until 8pm ET, at which point, we will pivot to meet the couple's preference in music. We will be coordinating with the venue on a place for the kids to hang-out, potentially with a game system. Please stay tuned as we work those details out.
Unfortunately, our venue does not allow dogs as a default. If you feel strongly about bringing your pup, however, please reach out to the bride to see what can be arranged. All other events are quite dog friendly. When in doubt, please reach out to the event space or the bride to find out more.
We are currently looking to block hotel rooms at two places. Please watch the Travel page for updates.
You can fly into Asheville as they do have an airport. If you are running into challenges, please also check the Charlotte and RDU airports, but let the bride know so she can help coordinate further travel support if possible.
Yes, there is an open bar with a selection of beer, wine, non-alcoholic options, and simple cocktails. There will also be two signature cocktails.
No, we are not planning to hire anyone to provide these services. We will have QR codes and disposable cameras around the venues for everyone to take candids and share them. We will share the film photos via social media after getting them developed. We also plan to hire a photobooth.
