How We Met

Our First Date Together, Our Last First Date Ever

We met over Coffee and Bagels ... and Marty was uncharacteristically late, by almost 40 minutes! Luckily, Melissa had plans with friends in the city afterward and decided he might be worth the wait. He was at least entertaining and made her laugh, but made no excuses and instead offered a lifetime of chocolates as an apology -- which Melissa has since taken him up on. They both knew something special was happening but had no idea where it would lead -- it started with coffee that turned into a walk that ended up on a random bench on the San Francisco Bay. There, they talked for what felt like a lifetime and that's where it all began. The first date to end all first dates.

The Proposal

Down On One Knee, Yes Turned You + Me Into We

It was a typical weeknight and we took our typical evening Puggle walk ... this time a bit longer, past the dog park, and along the San Francisco Bay. We spotted, what we've since deemed, "Our Bench" (from that first date), and decided to sit and chat before trekking back. Marty quickly noticed that our bench had been vandalized, and as Melissa went to look and see what was there -- she saw that a gold plaque had been mounted to the bench. It read "Our First Date Together, Our Last First Date Ever" -- As she turned, she saw Marty down on one knee. Her face said 'yes' before he could even pop the question. And the rest is history.
